About Me

I’m a food obsessed Mum of two boys.

I’ve always been obsessed with food, but in recent years, (since the arrival of small people!) not had the money to buy whatever food I fancied…….so I had to get clever with my shopping and cooking.

I grew up in Cornwall and we never had much money. My Mum taught me how to cook incredible meals with few ingredients, making sure that we didn’t waste a thing!

When I started my own family, I went back to the type of food I had when I was a child. Simple, nutritious and tasty…..on a budget! I’m a busy Mum, so wanted to write great recipes for families to use everyday. All of my food is simple, quick to make and (mostly!) healthy dinner options. I don’t use 15 ingredients, if I can make a great meal from 5 and I always explain how to make the meals in a straightforward, down-to-earth way.

I basically couldn’t find the cookbook that met our needs as a family on a budget – so I wrote one!

Owing to the success of my first, self published book, “The Aldi Lover’s Guide to Cooking”, my book, “The Savvy Shopper’s Cookbook” was published by Ebury Press in May 2017. If you’d like to order your copy, just click on the link HERE to go to the books Amazon page.

I recently made the big move back to Cornwall from the South East. We are living out our frugal, seaside (slightly scruffy) dream.
